Who We Are
Our Mission:
provide programs and services that enrich the educational, social and cultural opportunities for students and families in our community. With the help of our passionate volunteers, administrative staff, board members, and community partners, we are devoted to making a difference in the academic achievement and quality of life for these young children.
What We Do:
Afterschool Programs of Lancaster delivers high quality programs that are proven to positively impact student outcomes in academic performance and provide educational enrichment for students, furthering their academic development outside of the school day.
As a Non-profit Organization:
our free grant program is funded through grants and donations; in fact, Afterschool Programs of Lancaster has been awarded a total of over 12 Federal Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Grants totaling $10+ million in awards since 2004. Combined with the donations we receive from our community partners, individual donors, local businesses, and donations to the Fairfield County Foundation on our behalf, we are able to provide services that benefit the students and families in the Lancaster City School district at no cost to them.
More about Afterschool Programs of Lancaster:
For 25 years we have provided thousands of children from our community with Out of School Time (OST) homework help, math and reading tutoring, social emotional learning, adult mentoring, and meals. In addition to OST services, we also offer before/after school child care to provide families with a safe, academically enriching environment when their child is not in school. We serve students and families in all five of our district elementary schools contributing to the supportive structure these students need to thrive and become successful members of our community.
